You Can’t Evict An Idea – Occupy London On Film -TRAILER

On the 14th October 2017, with a few test screenings behind me and great feedback, I awoke with one thought: Tomorrow is the 6th anniversary of our occupation of St. Paul’s. I have to make a trailer now! DOH! So I leapt outta bed and started working on one.

Deciding On The Title For The Film

Firstly let me say that using Nathaniel James’ fantastic song Occupying This City, as the background music upon which the whole trailer would be presented was a no brainer. I love it. As time ran out for me to secure a title, there it was staring me in the face and drilling me in the ear!

I heard him sing “You can’t evict an idea” over and over again, as is the nature of editing. To boot, I was putting those words in text on the screen to make a point of them. Like a long awaited for dinner being served in a restaurant, there it was being served to me. My reaction was passive. I instantly forgot I had been waiting for so long. I cherished the sight of it for a few seconds and bent the knee 🙂

It says it all really.

If there was one thing that united us and all our supporters together was the idea of economic justice.

OK so this blog is to say that the long and winding road is coming to an end and from here I hope to catch a bus 🙂 Thank you for your support along the way.

I would love to get the film into film festivals because if I do then it may have a chance of being seen by more than the people who reside in our toasty echo chambers. To quote Dan Ashman “If we are going to do things in terms of scale, we need people to think in terms of scale, and we need people to work in terms of scale” and I would love to try and get this film seen by more than I can reach through my rather misreable social media distributing abilities. Besides money is required for that kind of thing too now. BOOST YOUR POST and all that jazz. The driving force of the film is to bridge the gap between activism and all those who would not otherwise engage with us or who fall prey to the main stream media’s lies about us and our simple, sane requests.

Another quote from the film “To do that takes time” Liz Beech, (talking about something entirely different by aaaaanyway) If you can afford a few pounds I would be very grateful. Most film festivals cost at least ÂŁ20 and I need to submit it into many and of course submission is not to be mistaken for acceptance. So the road is still long but it would be great to catch that bus!

…..we need people to think in terms of scale and we need people to work in terms of scale” Dan Ashman – Donation Link

Thank you again 🙂

    1. I have spoke to him about the film but he is just so busy and kinda old. He says that of himself a lot and I think it is code for ‘please leave me be!!” He told me to contact his productions company and I did and it did not go much further. Maybe I should again. I did not have anything to show for it expect the video Snippets last time.

No point in having an opinion unless you share it :)
